My dearest Wolvendrift friends,

“A kind word warms up three cold winter months” – Japanese proverb

With the cold weather of the last few days, I feel obliged to give you this quote! If the sun can’t warm us, maybe you can by being kind to just one person. June has been a wonderful and exciting month for Wolvendrift. I am extremely proud to announce that SABIA/VOW Awards nominated Wolvendrift as Wedding Venue of the year! The gala event takes place in August, so we’ll keep you posted!

The Wacky Wine Weekend was a wonderful success! The weather played along beautifully and we couldn’t have asked for anything more this year! We had quite a few new faces and then “old” friends of the farm. The winner of our Spot-the-Mascot competition is Mr. John Hall from Gauteng! Just goes to show who visits the Wacky Wine Weekend!

Wolvendrift is also proud to be associated with the Epilepsy Foundation of S.A and attended the Wine Auction at the Bay hotel. The dress code was glamorous and Danielle Pascal entertained the guests. We donated wine for the auction and more than R74 000 was raised for the foundation. Jonty Rhodes attended the function and Jan, our winemaker had a chance of meeting this wonderful person. The hilarious Soli Philander was the M.C for the evening!

Although it is winter, we are preparing for spring. We have a brand new website for your enjoyment and perusal. We will be changing a few things and we would love for you to send us your favorite Wolvendrift moments! I will place it in our photo gallery.
Together with our new website, I will update it from time to time with great recipes and tell you about the latest “Wolvendrift gossip”.

Until we “meet” again, be kind to one person and warm 3 winter months!

With my warmest regards
Alett Bruwer
